Safe Routes to School

Reynoldsburg City Schools is partnering with the City of Reynoldsburg and Sustainable Reynoldsburg in the national Safe Routes to School initiative.  Federal grants are available for programs that improve neighborhood infrastructure or educational programming so that kids can walk and bike to school safely.

The Reynoldsburg Safe Routes to School organization has just completed parent surveys at Herbert Mills and Rose Hill schools, the first step to grant funding.  The next step is to develop transportation plans for those neighborhoods and identify necessary improvements.  We need your help! iwalk2vertweb_400

We also are looking for parents and school staff members to start Safe Routes committees at our other schools to get them on track.  And for volunteers to help plan a Walk to School Day event in the fall.  Reynoldsburg schools have been awarded a total of $10,000 from the Ohio Department of Transportation to support that event.
