Partners are contributing their expertise and experience to create a curriculum that meets the needs of a 21st century learner. Our partners will continue to be mentors and resources for both students and teachers at the Encore Academy. Encore Academy partnerships include: The Columbus Museum of Art, Ballet Met, Opera Columbus, the Wexner Center for the Arts, the King Arts Complex, the Columbus Symphony, ProMusica, the Granville Studio of Visual Arts, Ohio Dominican University, OSU Arts Initiative, Columbus State Community College, Central Ohio Technical College and the Knowledge Works Foundation. These partnerships ensure successful creative opportunities for Encore students both in and out of the classroom.
Eastland-Fairfield Career Center 10th grade presentation
A representative from Eastland-Fairfield Career Center gave a presentation to 10th graders to introduce the opportunities offered at the career center. They also informed students about the opportunity to visit the career center in November 2023 for a hands-on learning experience to better help students decide if attending the career center for their remaining two years of high school is the right fit for them.
Attached are the slides from the presentation, the list of programs students can visit, and the parent permission slip for the field trip. If students want to go on the field trip they must complete the two steps below:
1) Students must fill out the Google form to select with locations/programs they want to visit. They can scan the QR code on the document attached for click THIS LINK to access the form. Students have two weeks to complete this form. They can also edit their choices any time in the next two weeks by accessing the form.
2) Students must turn in a signed parent permission form. Forms will be distributed in American History classes on Thursday, September 21. If you (your student) is absent tomorrow, they can get a form from the Gold office when they return to school or the attached permission form can be printed and returned. Permission forms need to be turned in by Thursday, October 5 to the Gold office.
