It is hard to believe we are already in the second half of the 18-19 school year! I'd like to take a moment to welcome all of the new families and community members to Slate Ridge! We have added new staff members as well as new students. We welcome Mrs. Sullivan as our new head cook, Ms. Gantzman is teaching first grade and Kathy Alexander is joining us as an educational parapro, as well as Mr. Jack Hatfield our new Head Custodian.
Just to re-iterate, every Friday morning, we will all meet in the gymnasium/cafeteria for our “Morning Rise” assembly. The Morning Rise is a time for all of us to come together and discuss things as a school community. We will be recognizing students for their achievements, discussing academics, problem solving and making improvements in our building together as a team. Parents and guardians you are invited to join in the Morning Rise with us whenever you’d like. Simply sign into the front office as usual and sign out when the Morning Rise is over. Parents will not be able to enter the building after the meeting ends for safety reasons per our usual operating standards, but our doors are open for you to attend the Rise! It will be a short 5-10-minute affair as we do not want to interrupt too much instructional time. We are very excited to open our doors and extend the school out into the community each week.
Please consider becoming a volunteer or a part of our PTO. We welcome parents and community members to be a part of the Slate Ridge Family in order to make our school the best it can be! Also continue to watch our website, Facebook page and Twitter account for updated information about our school.
We are looking forward to continuing to challenge and be challenged by our students each and every day. I wish you all the best!
