RHS Marching Pride Debuts Competition Show!

RHS Marching Pride

While the weather leading up to the RHS Marching Pride friends and family preview night wasn't looking great, the elements smiled down on the stadium with plenty of sunshine for the band members and everyone who came out to support them.

After spending time at Rio Grande University during band camp, countless hours of practice and lots of volunteering, the Marching Pride showcased their competition show, "Earth, Wind and Fire," to a packed stadium.

While Band Director Jason Gibson explained that he and wife and fellow teacher Mrs. Gibson chose the theme last year, it's not based on the band, but the elements. The show kicked off with Michael Jackson's Earth Song, before melding into "The Path of the Wind" and concluding with "Ritual of Fire."

This year's student conductors are eSTEM junior Jamie Greene and BELL senior Luka Wong. The songs, along with other music, will be performed during competitions, football games and more.
