Principal Profile: Meet Mrs. Slauter!

Mrs. Breen Slauter, WRJHS Principal

With the start of school around the corner, the students of Reynoldsburg City Schools will start to see new faces in the hallways, whether it is making new friends, meeting new teachers, or perhaps in the role of their new principal. We're helping our families get to know the leaders at their schools, starting with the newer principals. By the end of the year, we will feature each principal of each school!

First up is Mrs. Slauter, principal for Waggoner Road Junior High School. Mrs. Slauter might not be a new face to WRJHS per se, as she was the assistant principal for the building last year, but with Mr. Brooks taking over as principal for Waggoner Road Middle School, she stepped into the role at WRJHS.

Originally from Cincinatti, Ohio, Mrs. Slauter went to Kent State University for her undergrad and then recieved her MBA and MED from Florida Metropolitian University in Tampa, Fla. and Salem International University in Salem, W.V., respectively. She began her career with Columbus City Schools and spent time teaching in Groveport, Ohio as well as a brief time in Tennessee when her husband's job transferred them out of state.

She's no stranger to Reynoldsburg, as she came to the District in 2015 as assistant principal. In 2016-17 Mrs. Slauter assumed the role for both buildings within the Waggoner Campus.

"We have an amazing group of students and staff," said Mrs. Slauter. "Everyone works hard and comes to school every day with purpose. Our students want to learn and are engaged. Our parents are supportive and take an active role in their children's education. It truly is a family."

Mrs. Slauter's goal for Waggoner Road Junior High School? "When parents are thinking about where to send their kids to school, I want them to think of us," she said. "I want Waggoner Road Junior High School to be a 'go-to' school within the community."
