Encore Academy Student Honored with State Award!

OCECD Luncheon

Earlier this summer, Quaran, a student at Reynoldsburg High School's Encore Academy was honored with the 2019 R. A. Horn Outstanding Achievement Award. The award is presented to one exemplary student from each of Ohio's 16 support team regions. The award, which was established 31 years ago by the Ohio Department of Education, is named in honor of Dr. Raymond A. Horn, Assistant Superintendent of Public Instruction Emeritus.

Quaran was recognized for his remarkable performance in high school. The award was presented to Quaran with his grandmother and guests from Reynoldsburg City Schools at the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities. The OCECD is a statewide, non-profit organization that serves families with youth with disabilities in Ohio and the agencies that provide services to them.

The OCECD's programs help parents become informed and effective representatives for their children in all educational settings, and assist youth in being advocates for themselves. We are very proud of Quaran, and want to congratulate him on receiving the R. A. Horn Outstanding Achievement Award!
