eSTEM Senior is Commended Student!

Mr. Bennett Presents Niah with her Commended Student Certificate

Usually, when a parent recieves a phone call from the school principal, they assume it's bad news. But Niah's father was pleasantly surprised when eSTEM Principal Mr. Bennett gave him a call. He explained that Niah wasn't in trouble, just the opposite. She was a Commended Student with the National Merit Program, meaning she was in the top 3% of students who took the PSATs. Out of 1.5 million test takers, Niah was in the top 50,000 in the country.

"We are really proud of Niah, not only for this achievement but for everything she does at Reynoldsburg High School and her community," said Mr. Bennett.

Niah created a program where seniors mentor underclassmen at school, and is an active member of Girl Up, a program that promotes the health, safety, education and leadership of girls in developing countries.

Niah plans to go to college for Environmental Science and Ecology and recently visited Yale University. She is also interested in NC State and Emory University.
