Ms. Wilson, Principal at Hannah Ashton Middle School

You may recognize Ms. Wilson, principal at Hannah Ashton Middle School because she has been in the district for eight years. Or, you might recognize her because she is an alumni from Reynoldsburg High School. Now in her third year as principal, Ms. Wilson has done her best to pay it forward to her students and the community through leadership and education.

HAMS is known for their school events. A favorite of Ms. Wilson’s is Hoops for Hearts which is a charity basketball game where the teachers take on students to benefit the American Heart Association. She also loves the end of year celebrations HAMS hosts that have an array of activities from bounce houses to performances and of course, free spaghetti!

“None of this could be done without my amazing staff,” she said. “We want each student to leave HAMS with at least one connection with a teacher.” Ms. Wilson also loves learning about our community and connecting with her students.

Another reason Ms. Wilson loves Hoops for Hearts is because she is an avid basketball player. She received a full athletic scholarship for basketball to Northern Illinois University where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s in education.
