Change, Grow, Achieve

Dear Taylor Road Families,

Change, grow, achieve. This has been the expected progression we ask of Taylor Road students every year. They change to a new grade level, with new teachers, routines, and expectations. They grow academically with each problem they solve, book they read, and discovery they make. And then, they achieve. Boy, do our kids ever achieve! We are so proud each year as our students rise to the challenge and have established a culture of excellence in this community.

Change, grow, achieve is also the standard of our teachers. That’s why you see some take on new roles or bring new programs to Taylor Road each year. Others leave to accept new challenges elsewhere. I have always encouraged our staff to not sit still for too long. Instead, take a chance on new ventures that will only enhance their lives professionally and personally.

Now, it’s my turn. For nine years, I have stood on that same purple square in the lobby and welcomed the best Tornadoes in the world to another day of learning. My very first group of fourth graders is graduating this year. I’ve been here long enough to call boys and girls by their older siblings’ names, and fondly recall great memories of each class of students who have called Taylor Road their school. Thus, with a great mix of emotions, I am
resigning from Reynoldsburg City Schools this summer. I have accepted the position of Director of Elementary Education for Whitehall City Schools. I am very excited about this new role and look forward to working with some great people there.

So, as I exchange purple and gold for black and white, and Tornadoes for Rams, I can’t get this place out of my heart. Taylor Road Elementary is where I began my administrative career, and Taylor Road will always be my standard for what a great school looks like. Thank you all for making my time at Taylor Road Elementary such a rewarding and excellent experience.

With deepest regards,
Darrell Propst
