The days are winding down in the school year -- faster for Reynoldsburg High School than the rest of the student body, since the last day for seniors was May 18.

The last day of school for all other students is May 26.

Todd Hutchins, director of communications, said the 2016 commencement ceremony for will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at the Schottenstein Center, 555 Borror Drive, Columbus.

About 448 seniors will arrive at the Schottenstein Center at 6:15 p.m. wearing purple graduation robes and mortarboards.

To be allowed to walk down that aisle, however, they have to attend a mandatory rehearsal for the ceremony at 7:30 a.m. May 24 at the Reynoldsburg High School Livingston campus field house.

Graduation speakers will include school board President Joe Begeny and Superintendent Tina Thomas-Manning, Hutchins said, as will representatives from Eastland-Fairfield Career Center and Everest High School, a charter school sponsored by the Reynoldsburg district.

The high school choir will perform at the ceremony and some graduates will get to speak but a final list was not yet completed, he said.
