BELL ACADEMY - Students earn practical experience, college credits

Reynoldsburg BELL Early College Academy is exactly that -- an opportunity for students to jump on a fast track to a four-year degree and a career by earning significant college credits while still in high school.

Reynoldsburg eighth-graders must soon choose which of four high school academies -- BELL (business, education, leadership and law); HS(2), Encore and eSTEM -- they will attend as high school freshmen next school year.

Academy Leader Erica Dodson said BELL is for the student who wants to attend college or work toward a career in one of six pathways: criminal justice, digital media design, education, law, business and marketing.

"BELL is designed for a student who dreams of going to college, whether already intrinsically motivated or not, and still wishes to participate in high school activities," she said.

"During the four years at BELL, students learn perseverance, persistence, accountability and other necessary qualities to be successful in post-high school planning."
