Candidate Chosen to Fill Open School Board Seat

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio – Members of the Reynoldsburg Board of Education have appointed Ryan Brzezinski to fill former school board vice president Loretta King’s open seat for the remainder of the year. Brzezinski has two children – both of them graduated from Reynoldsburg City Schools in 2014.

“We welcome the addition of Ryan Brzezinski to our school board,” said Elaine Tornero, school board president. “Ryan is very knowledgeable about our district and has been involved with the schools in a variety of ways over the years. He will be an asset to the board.”

Brzezinski has lived in Reynoldsburg for about 35 years. He was a school board member from 2010-2014 and participated on committees for policy and athletics.

“I’m very proud to have been appointed to the school board,” said Brzezinski. “I will strive to be an advocate for our students and continue to support the high standards we have in our schools.”

Brzezinski is a lieutenant with the Columbus Division of Fire. In his role, he supervises other firefighters, manages the daily activities within the firehouse and develops action plans to help protect firefighters and residents in emergency situations.

Brzezinski will be sworn in at the next Board of Education meeting on July 21, 2015 at City Hall. He will complete the final months of King’s four-year term, which ends on December 31. In November, Brzezinski will have to run and win the election to retain King’s seat in 2016.
