The Indian Festival will focus on the 6th grade study of Indian culture. We will include a kite festival as well as a "Holi Festival" otherwise known as a color festival. This will stretch over the final three days of school. We are working with Forest Alexander, "the kite man" to kick the week off with a presentation of his kite construction and various types of kites he builds. He is going to also do a kite demonstration including a 100 foot sled kite! We are also working with the Hindu temple from Powell and their youth director. Students will be cooking Indian food. On Thursday morning, there will be a kite competition within several categories. The final event of the day is the "color festival".
