2020-21 Enrollment information
Enrollment & Request App pickup – begins 2/18/20 - Drop-off – begins 3/2/20 – first-come-first-served

Deadline – 4PM 3/20/20

 

ENROLLMENT 2020-2021

Enrollment packets for all new resident students – grades KG-12 will be available at the Welcome Center starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

  • Currently enrolled resident students do not need to re-enroll each year.  Families who make any change in residency or custody will need to report to the Welcome Center.
  • As you may recall from the April 2019 Board of Education Meeting, the Kindergarten eligibility date has been changed to children turning 5 on or before August 1, 2020
  • Incomplete packets cannot be accepted.  Families should refer to the checklists and requirements within the paperwork they pick up and come prepared with all paperwork in-hand.
  • Families enrolling new Kindergarten students do NOT need to wait for the child’s 5yo physical appointment before enrolling, but they MUST bring the child’s most current immunization record (and TB results if applicable) at the time of enrollment for the packet to be accepted.
  • All paperwork must be turned in to the Welcome Center by the custodial parent, in-person.  NO faxed or scanned enrollment will be accepted.

Completed Enrollment applications will be accepted at the Welcome Center, beginning at 8AM on Monday, March 2, 2020

This will be done on a first-come-first-served basis.  No appointments will be needed.

 

REQUESTS & RENEWALS 2020-2021

STEM/STEAM school applications will be available at the Welcome Center starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020

                (Herbert Mills STEAM, Summit Elementary STEM, STEM Middle at Baldwin)

  • This applies to new students as well as existing students who are not currently attending a STEM/STEAM school and would like to be placed on the waiting list.
  • Students who are currently on the waiting list for the 19-20 school year do not need to reapply.  They will roll up to the appropriate grade level and their current spot on the list will maintain.
  • Applications are time and date marked, and will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis, as seating allows.
  • Students currently attending a STEM/STEAM school do not need to reapply for 20-21.

Intra-district applications will be available at the Welcome Center starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020

(Resident students wishing to attend a neighborhood school other than that assigned)

  • Applications are time and date marked, and will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis, as seating allows.
  • Students who are currently on the waiting list for the 19-20 school year do not need to reapply.  They will roll up to the appropriate grade level and their current spot on the list will maintain.
  • Renewal applications will be sent home, via e-mail from the Welcome Center, to existing Intra-district students starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.  
  • Families who do not re-apply by the deadline will automatically be re-assigned to their home school for the 20-21 school year.  Late renewals will be placed on a waiting list.
  • Parents must be able to provide transportation to and from these schools.

Return to Home School Requests will be available at the Welcome Center starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

  • Students who no longer wish to attend a School of Choice or their current Intra-District arrangement may request to return to the school assigned to them by residency for the 20-21 school year.
  • Students who are currently on the waiting list for the 19-20 school year do not need to reapply.  They will roll up to the appropriate grade level and their current spot on the list will maintain.

Open Enrollment applications for all new candidates will be available at the Welcome Center starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

  • Incomplete packets will not be accepted.  Families should refer to the checklists and requirements within the paperwork they pick up and come prepared.
  • RCS cannot formally request records from current schools for these candidates prior to their acceptance.  Families are responsible for providing all required documentation directly.
  • Families enrolling new Kindergarten students do NOT need to wait for the child’s 5yo physical appointment before enrolling, but they MUST bring the child’s most current immunization record (and TB results if applicable) at the time of enrollment for the packet to be accepted.
  • This timeframe will also apply to current staff members wanting to enroll their children with RCS for the 20-21 school year.
  • All paperwork must be turned in to the Welcome Center by the custodial parent, in-person.  NO faxed or scanned enrollment will be accepted.
  • Parents must be able to provide transportation to and from these schools.

Open Enrollment renewals for current students will be available starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

  • Renewal applications will be sent home, via e-mail from the Welcome Center, to existing Open Enrollment students starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.  Paper copies will be available at the Welcome Center.
  • Completed renewal forms may be returned to the Welcome Center via email, fax, or in person
  • Current Open Enrollment students who do not plan to return to Reynoldsburg City Schools for the 2020-21 school year should indicate as such on the renewal form.  These families should also sign an Intent to Withdraw form. 
  • This timeframe will also apply to current staff members wanting to renew their child’s enrollment with RCS for the 20-21 school year.
  • Parents must be able to provide transportation to and from these schools.

Academy Transfer Requests for current High School students will be available at the Welcome Center starting on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

  • Please note that these requests are subject to review and not an automatic transfer for the student.

Completed applications listed above will be accepted at the Welcome Center, beginning at 8AM on Monday, March 2, 2020

This will be done on a first-come-first-served basis.  No appointments will be needed.

The DEADLINE for all of the above applications, new & renewals – will be

4PM on Friday, March 13, 2020.

 

All applications are considered to be on a waiting list until capacity is determined for the 20-21 school year. 

Families will be notified during the summer, as seats become available for their student.
