Mrs. McCloud Makes No Bones About Her Love for HS2!

Every morning, there’s a familiar face greeting the students of the Health and Human Services STEM Academy, known as HS2, on their way to class. Mrs. McCloud, principal of the academy located at Reynoldsburg High School’s Livingston Campus, has been with the District for 11 years. She began her career as a substitute teacher and worked her way up to being the principal of HS2.  The academy is one of the four high school academies, and one of only two Ohio-designated STEM schools specializing in medical fields.

When we asked Mrs. McCloud what her favorite part of being principal is, she said, “Every year graduation is incredible to see kids finally realize and be proud of their accomplishments.” A close second is Prom.

Mrs. McCloud credits her success to her amazing staff. “They are wonderful, caring people and go out of their way to help students be successful,” she said.

HS2 draws on the strengths of scientific methods and technology to focus on health sciences and human services. Students work alongside professionals in health and human services to think critically, solve problems and advocate for others.

Originally from Laguna Beach, California, Mrs. McCloud moved to Ohio and was in the Ohio National Guard for seven years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University and her master’s from Capella University, based in Minneapolis.
