Board Approves Hiring Dr. Cosgrave as Assistant Superintendent
Board Approves Hiring Dr. Cosgrave as Assistant SuperintendentIn a unanimous vote, the Reynoldsburg Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Jocelyn Cosgrave as the next assistant superintendent to lead the district. Cosgrave is currently the principal of the Encore High School Academy at the Summit Road Campus. She has served in that role for the past two years.

“We are excited to announce Dr. Cosgrave will continue to grow as an educator right here in Reynoldsburg as she takes over the assistant superintendent duties,” said Superintendent Tina Thomas-Manning. “Her enthusiasm and knowledge of Reynoldsburg’s education standards during the interview process was exceptional. She impressed everyone on the panel.”

Cosgrave said she is looking forward to the new challenges that come along with this position. “I am humbled and blessed to be given the opportunity to serve the students of Reynoldsburg on an even larger scale than I did as building principal.”

This is Cosgrave’s second stint in Reynoldsburg City Schools. She first taught 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies from 2005-2012 at Hannah Ashton Middle School before taking a job with Zanesville City Schools. For two years, she was the principal and director of two schools – the Muskingum Valley New Tech Academy and ZMS New Tech. This is where she learned how to operate a college and career readiness academy, which prepared her well for her current position as principal of Encore Academy.

Superintendent Thomas-Manning said Cosgrave often brings new ideas to the table, advocates for students and takes an active role in many district projects to broaden her experiences and educational knowledge for the betterment of all four high school academies.

Cosgrave has served as an educator since 2002, when she began teaching 8th grade Language Arts at Maysville Local Schools in Zanesville. She earned a doctorate in education in 2009 from Nova Southeastern University, and she earned both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Rio Grande.
