March 15th

Did you know you can do Study Island at HOME?

Coming Up:

March 17- Leprechaun Traps are due.  Directions went home on March 8th.  Students should include at least two simple machines and write a paragraph about how their trap works.  They need to describe the machines they used.  Extra credit for those who catch a leprechaun!!

March 27 to April 4-Spring Break! No School

April 19 Reading OAT

April 21  Math OAT

Please ensure your child completes the March Calendar for each day of the month (even weekends).  We really hope to have 100% turned in at the end of the month.  We haven't accomplished that goal yet.

This week,

Math- We will take a test on fractions on Monday and then move on to multiplying with bigger numbers and applying patterns. Unit 8 Home Links should be turned in.  Unit 9 is coming home Monday.  Please read the Family Letter and preview the Unit.   Remember, it is better to help your child understand his or her homework, than to say, "It's your work---you do it."  It is a direct practice of what we're doing in class.

Reading -We are working on drawing conclusions,

inferential questions, and stated and implied themes.  The Third Quarter tests in both reading and math will be this week and next week.  Now is the crunch time before the OAT (OAA) test.

Weekly quizzes include DLR and MF (Memory Fact).  Remember that the Memory Fact is the only spelling 'list' they get each week.  The grades for spelling will not only be from the MF, but also from daily writing and project writing.

Have a fantastic week!

This week’s Memory Fact/ spelling:One gallon, four quarts, eight pints, and 16 cups are all equivalent.  They equal the same amount.
