Reynoldsburg High School is proud of the honors and achievements of our Raider students and faculty. Below are our Points of Pride for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Excellent rating on the 2008-2009 State Report Card!
Stacy Bartlett, Emma Chomin and Alex Estell are National Merit semifinalists.
Stacy Bartlett and Charles Thomason are semifinalists in the National Achievement Scholarship Program.
The Raider Marching Pride earned a Superior Rating at the Ohio Music Education Association State Marching Band Finals.
RHS is one of 33 high schools in Ohio participating in the Ohio Value-Added High Schools program with Battelle for Kids. This allows RHS students to take ACT End-of-Course Exams to better prepare for the ACT exam and also to be exposed to College Readiness skills.
RHS is in partnership with Gahanna Lincoln High School and The Metro School in the Ohio Performance Based Assessment pilot through the Ohio Department of Education and Stanford University. Through this pilot, RHS students will participate in performance assessments that ask students to apply the knowledge, skills and strategies that are necessary for success in the workforce and college.
Mrs. Anne Baldwin, instructional coach, is the Vice President/President-Elect for The Ohio Council for the Social Studies. The OCSS advocates for the vital role of social studies and assists educators through professional development for the delivery of effective and innovative instruction.
Evan Holliman was selected to attend the HOBY Leadership Seminar over the summer. Students selected for the HOBYLeadership Seminar participate in unique leadership training, service-learning and motivation-buildingexperiences. Learn more about HOBY at http://www.hoby.org/.
Thirty-seven students at Reynoldsburg High School have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams. View complete list by clicking here.
Thirty-one of Mrs. Ladowitz's ninth grade science students were named semi-finalists in the National Engineering Design Challenge! The team was one of 36 teams selected from approximately 250 teams around the nation.
Trevor Thompson, violin, was selected for the Ohio Music Educators Association All-State Orchestra.
Chris Crawford, trumpet, was selected for the Ohio Music Educators Association All-State Band.
T'Shera Lucas has become the Lady Raiders Basketball All-time leading scorer.
Twenty-four DECA students participated in the DECA Winter Contest at COSI on February 3, 2010. 95% of the students placed in the top 5 for each event they entered. Seventeen students qualified for the State DECA Conference to be held in March, 2010.
Four Raider athletes have signed National Letters of Intent: Roosevelt Nix-Jones (Kent State University- football), Devon McKoy (Bowling Green State University- football), Kelsea Corns (University of Findlay- soccer) and Taylor Jennings (Northern Kentucky University- soccer).
Tayler Parker won the local Poetry Out Loud competition at RHS and had advanced to the State Poetry Out Loud Competition to be held on Saturday, March 13 at 12pm at Ohio Dominican University.
Mrs. Kim Pennycuff, business and marketing instructor and DECA advisor, has been elected President of the Ohio Marketing Education Association for 2010-2011. She has also received the OHIO ACTE Distinguished Service Award for her contributions to the Ohio Career and Technical Educators Association.
