 Welcome to our first grade class webpage. 

I hope that you have had a terrific summer break with your family and have made great memories.  Now the time has come to begin another stepping stone in your child's life- First Grade.  This time for many children marks the first time to attend school all day, eat lunch away from home, and be with a teacher that will have them actively learning all day long.  In our classroom, we will have times when we sit at desks, dance around the room, and sing to learn.  Keep an ear open to hear the songs we will be learning in the first weeks. 

Our First Week

We had a great first week!  My class earned a lot of marbles in the behavior reward cup.  Through practicing the TRE rules, our class is very close to filling it up already. We practiced daily routines, getting to know lunch line procedures and dismissal procedures as well.  This upcoming week will be full of quick assessments to see what we already know.  Once all first grade assessments are completed, small guided reading groups will begin in class.  Be on the lookout for math HOMELINKS this week.  Spelling words will start next week as it is a practice list.
