Welcome to the new school year!  I hope everyone had a great summer.  I am so excited to meet all of my new first graders!  First grade is a time of many firsts for your child--being at school all day, having lunch at school, and going to gym and music, just to name a few.

Please plan on coming to Orientation Night, Monday, August 23 from 5:30-6:15.  The PTO is having their ice cream social the same night from 6-8, so I hope to see many of you outside after we talk in the classroom.

Please check the list of attachments below for the list of sight words for the last nine weeks.  We will be testing on these words the last 2 weeks of May.  Please work on these words at home with your child.  The more of these words they know, the better readers they will be!

Please do not forget to send in proof of spelling homework being done--this can be anything from a note or email saying how it was done, to a picture of the child doing it, or the words written on paper.
