I wanted to provide you with information regarding important dates and scheduled events that you may need to put on your calendars now. A PDF of these calendar entries is available here.
The Reynoldsburg Board of Education approved amending the school calendar to include three early release days to allow teachers professional development time. These dates are:
Wednesday, Feb. 24
Wednesday, March 24, and
Wednesday, April 28.
Students will be released from school 2 hours early on these days. Dismissal will be at 12:50 pm.
Jan. 14 and 15 are Second Quarter Field Trip days to Tall Timbers Banquet Facility. On Thursday, Jan. 14, the 6th grade will leave school at 10:15 am and return by 1 pm. On Friday, Jan. 15, the 5th grade will leave school at 10:15 am and return by 1 pm.
Jan. 18 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and WRMS is closed.
Jan. 19 is a Teacher In-Service Professional Day, and school is closed for students. However, we will hold Chess Club at 6 pm on the 19th to maintain our bi-monthly, Tuesday Chess Club schedule.
The end of the 2nd grading period is Jan. 15, and report cards will be sent home with students on Friday, Jan. 22.
On Jan. 28, we will be holding a Parent/Student Education and Fun Night for Students with ADD/ADHD to learn about how to manage school, life, and friendships. We will meet in the café/gym for fun and learning at 7 pm. Presenters will include parents, Intervention Teachers, Behavior Specialists and our School Psychologist. I will open the gym for structured games for the students.
On Jan. 29, students will receive Read-a-Thon packets from the PTO. Students will be asked to request donations from friends and family members. The proceeds from the Read-a-Thon will go toward the PTO efforts to fund field trips and other student activities. The Read-a-Thon will be held school wide on Feb. 12 from 1-2:30 pm.
