Opening Day Video available on Teacher Tube

Once again, this year's Opening Day video was played from You Tube, a site we block when students are in session.  But did you know you can find lots of great educational media - including the Did You Know 3.0 video on Teacher Tube?  It's a great resource for all sorts of educational media:

Here's the direct link to the Did You Know video we showed (there are lots of other versions out there):

Check it out!  Micro-grants for public school teachers are available through this nonprofit website, which has received backing from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundations, among others.

It's easy to sign up for an account and propose a project you'd like funded for your classroom (or library or resource room...).  Anyone who works directly with kids 75-percent of the time is eligible (not administrators or PTOs).  If your project strikes someone's fancy, they might send you the money to fund it.  All you have to do is say thanks to your sponsor.

For more information, visit http://www.donorschoose.org or click on the logo above.  Click on the "For Teachers" button to get started.

Our 2008-09 assessment schedule is now posted in the Staff Resources menu.

Hi everyone, and welcome back!

As we get the 2008-09 school year underway, I'd like to remind you all that this website can be a great way to provide information to parents and students.  Many of you have already created pages here and in the Cyber-Learning Center with wonderful resources for students and information for parents and families.  For those of you who would like to use this tool, I'm here to help.

This also is a great place to announce events, recruit volunteers and acknowledge the accomplishments of your students or colleagues.  To submit a story or announcement, simply log in and click on the "Create Content" button in the lower, right-hand column.  Don't worry about making a mistake; nothing will be published until I have a look.  You can't break it!

I'll be in the buildings regularly, but the quickest way to reach me is at tmoore@reyn.org or 501-5793.  I would be glad to help you get started and answer any questions you have along the way.

I also can help with other outreach efforts, such as press releases or community events.  Please don't hesitate to contact me.

Tricia Moore,
Coordinator of Community Outreach

teachtechThe menu on the left is meant to provide quick access to forms and information.  To the right, you will find a link to our technology helpdesk, where you may report a problem or request assistance; off-site access to your email account; and some links that you may use as part of your day-to-day work.

Please let me know what else you would like to see on these pages.  I'll be posting forms, etc., as I come across them.  We also could create a forum or consider other features if there is interest.  Please let me know what you'd like to see, and I'll do my best to make it happen.
