DECA Craft & Arts Bazaar coming Oct. 18

The annual Craft & Arts Bazaar sponsored by Reynoldsburg High School's DECA, has a new date.  It's coming up Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school, 6699 E. Livingston Ave.

This year's event will feature:

• More than 50 arts and crafts vendors
• Free admission to any staff member with ID
• Children under 10 and under admitted free/Senior citizens half price admission ($1)
• Child Care for a small donation
• Grandma's Kitchen -- Lots of yummy food (local vendors and homemade) and a Bake Sale
• Prizes announced every half hour -- great prizes from gift cards to craft items (from local restaurants and stores)

Ohio Graduation Tests (OGT) to be administered Oct. 20-24

The OGT will be administered to 11th and 12th graders only Oct. 20 - 24.  Notification has been mailed to students who are scheduled to take sections of the test.

Students must pass all five sections of the OGT in order to graduate from high school in the state of Ohio.

On days that your child will be tested they will need to report no later than 7:15 a.m. directly to the front lobby of the high school and check-in at the registration table. The district is providing bus transportation from the high school to the Reynoldsburg Touchdown Club Bingo Hall, where the testing will take place.

Students will return to the high school for lunch and the remainder of their classes.

Please make sure that your child gets a good night's sleep before the test and eats breakfast each morning prior to coming to school. Attendance is vital to each student's success in school and on the tests. Thank you for your continued support.

Sections of the test will be administered on the following days:

  • Monday, October 20: Reading
  • Tuesday, October 21: Math
  • Wednesday, October 22: Writing
  • Thursday, October 23: Science
  • Friday, October 24: Social Studies

Make-up tests will be administered Oct. 27 -31.

 

 

Reynoldsburg to host soccer tournament games

The Reynoldsburg High School girls soccer team will host its first-round district tournament game on Tuesday, Oct. 14, against Olentangy.  Game time is 7 p.m. at the Baldwin Road soccer facility.

The winner will advance to Round 2 against either Big Walnut or Lancaster.

The boys soccer team also will host its first-round district tournament game on Wednesday, Oct. 15 against Westerville North.  Game time is 7 p.m. at the Baldwin Road facility.

The winner will advance to Round 2 and will play Delaware Hayes on Saturday, Oct. 18.  That game will be at 7 p.m. at Delaware High School.

Tickets will for both Reynoldsburg games will be $6.  Game passes cannot be used at district events.

Volley for the Cure event planned on Oct. 2

Reynoldsburg High School's volleyball team is planning an a fundraiser event as part of Homecoming Week.  Volley for the Cure will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 2 at Reynoldsburg High School.

The team will sell T-shirts, baked goods and raffle tickets to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization to support breast cancer research.
