Five Reynoldsburg grads to be honored at Memorial Day celebration

Friday, May 28, at noon, five additional graduates will be honored at the Reynoldsburg High School Fallen Veterans Memorial. These five veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice during the time of war will join the other previously honored veterans who graduated from our district.

The ceremony will include a VFW color guard, a ceremonial three round volley of gun shots, and the playing of Taps by one of our Reynoldsburg High School students.  As you hear these shots throughout the city, please take time to reflect on the sacrifice these brave soldiers have made for our country.

Safety services, students cooperate to evacuate high school on Thursday

On Thursday May 13th, Reynoldsburg High School students were dismissed early because of a power outage in the high school. A transformer blew causing a loud noise and a fire hazard. Firefighters on the scene turned off power to the school and evacuated students.

Students were then dismissed because power could not be restored right away.

Simultaneously, we experienced a disturbance in the high school. A suspicious letter was found in a bathroom at the school, and student mobility was limited while Reynoldsburg police officers investigated.  An arrest was made.  The threat turned out to be unfounded, but school and safety officials take all such incidents seriously because student safety is our top priority.
