ACT End of Course Exam Information

Our high school is in the second year of an exciting national initiative to increase college and work readiness for all of our students. It’s called Battelle for Kids’ Ohio Value-Added High Schools, and one of its main focuses is to, ultimately, increase our students’ ACT test scores.

That’s important because ACT test scores have a long history of predicting which students will succeed in college. Unfortunately, research shows that three out of four ACT-tested 2007 high school graduates who take a core curriculum are not prepared to take entry-level college courses.

April 28 early dismissal canceled at junior highs, high school

The scheduled early dismissal planned for April 28 has been canceled for Reynoldsburg High School, Baldwin Road Junior High School and Waggoner Road Junior High School.  All elementary and middle schools will dismiss two hours early that day for staff professional development.

The junior highs and high school scheduled late arrivals for students in order to accommodate state-required testing. In order to make-up some of the missed classtime, they have canceled their professional development plans for April 28.

eSTEM applications available now

Attention Reynoldsburg 8th and 9th graders who have a special interest in environmental science: It's time to complete your application for the eSTEM Academy.

The new program will cater to students who like science, technology, engineering and math. It will open to 9th and 10th graders in the 2010-11 school year, and then to grades 9-12 the following year.

If environmental science isn't your thing, don't worry. The staff at Reynoldsburg High School is planning four other specialized academies to open in the 2011-12 school year. These programs will create smaller, safer learning communities where students and teachers know each other well. And they'll be designed to appeal to students' interests.
