If your child will be in 7th grade next year, it's likely that a trip to the doctor for a tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis booster will be necessary.
New immunization requirements for school attendance have been issued by the state of Ohio. The most significant among them is addition of the Tdap, a single shot booster for tetanus, diptheria and pertussis, for 7th graders. Only 30 percent of Ohio's current 7th graders have received this booster, so it's likely that most of next year's 7th graders will have to get the shot in order to comply.
