Bus riders may request a permanent change in their assigned pick-up or drop-off location to another existing stop within their school attendance area. These arrangements must be permanent and effective five days per week.

Local health agencies want parents to know how to protect their families from pertussis, better known as whooping cough. The illness, which can be serious for some children, has been reported more frequently than usual in recent months.

Parents of seventh graders should also be aware by now of a new state vaccination requirement. Proof of a booster vaccination - either a Tdap booster, or a Td booster in the last five years, must be provided to your junior high school by Sept. 15 in order to avoid exclusion from school for failure to vaccinate.

Reynoldsburg City Schools is gearing up for the 2010-11 school year. As usual the schools will have a staggered start in order to help students adjust to their new classrooms and buildings.

The opening schedule is as follows:

High School: Only 9th graders report Aug. 25. All students report Aug. 26

Junior High: Only 8th graders report Aug. 25. Only 7th graders report Aug. 26. All students report Aug. 27

K-6: Only students whose last names begin with A-L report Aug. 25. Only students whose last names begin with M-Z report Aug. 26. All students report Aug. 27.
