Gateway Program (Updates)

About the Gateway Program
The Gateway Program at Reynoldsburg City Schools is a self-contained, comprehensive program currently serving students in grades 6-8 who are identified as gifted in Superior Cognitive Ability, Reading, Mathematics, Science, and/or Social Studies. The program is housed at Waggoner Road Junior High School.

Beginning in 2017-2018, no new students will be admitted to the Gateway Program; however, all students currently enrolled in Gateway may continue to participate in the program until the completion of their 8th grade year.

Over time, and with the revision to the Operating Standards for Identifying and Serving Students Who Are Gifted,  the Gateway Program has become a model for revising the gifted services across the entire District to ensure that all Reynoldsburg City Schools students who are identified as gifted are able to receive appropriate services and enrichment opportunities.

Parents and students can now find gifted coursework available at all Reynoldsburg schools for grade 5 in Mathematics and Language Arts. In the 2019-2020 school year,  these opportunities will be expanded to grade 6.
