Current NJHS Members
Several current members have been reaching out with concerns about turning in and/or completing service hours. Due to the number of events that were cancelled or postponed, we will be lowering the required number of hours to 15 hours (this was originally 20 hours). In addition, forms are not due on March 20. Students will have two days when we return to provide the service hour forms to Mrs. Pryor or Ms. Gerbus. The forms can also be turned in on Google Classroom (you can take a picture of the form or scan it). You may also email the form to Mrs. Pryor ([email protected]) or Ms. Gerbus ([email protected]).
Our current NJHS members have been deeply invested in two big projects for April: the Leadership Summit and the EGG-cellent student celebration. We will post any updates about these events on the NJHS Google Classroom. However, please know we will adhere strictly to the policies of the district and the best practices to promote good health. There are no easy answers about how or if these events will occur.

Many of our sixth and seventh grade students were invited to join NJHS in early February. These students have been working diligently on completing the purple application sheet. If the application is complete, you may scan it or take a picture of it and turn it in via email to [email protected] or [email protected] You may also turn it in when we return to school. Students will have two days when we return to provide the application to Mrs. Pryor or Ms. Gerbus.
For those students whose plans to volunteer have been impacted by events being rescheduled, cancelled, or postponed, we would like you to remain calm. We know that this is well beyond your control. Students who could not complete their community service hours still may apply. In place of these hours, we would like students to make a plan of the things they would like to do to earn their 20 hours of service for next year (May 2020-March 2021). Students may write a quick paragraph or simply create a list of activities (or places) they will volunteer to earn their hours.
