Don’t get detention!

By Eli T.
Hannah Ashton Middle School now has a detention program to be used if students make bad choices at school. Detentions are served after school for two hours, or you could be given a lunch detention. The detention takes place in the old computer lab in back of the lunch room.
Students may receive a detention for behaviors that include but are not limited to:
Profanity, multiple tardies to class and/or school, insubordination (arguing with teachers), non-compliance, refusal to complete work, disrespect to staff or peers, or bullying.
During detentions:
Students will remain silent
Students will need to complete work or read
Electronics are not allowed during a detention unless cleared by the teacher for work related purposes only
Failure to comply during a detention will result in an in-school suspension or possible out of school suspension
All staff can send students to detention if the students don’t follow the school rules or if they are disrespectful.
This does NOT sound fun so don’t get detention!
