Mrs. Reed is amazing!

Mrs. Reed volunteers in our library and helps put books away, covers books, labels books and also repairs them. What Mrs. Reed likes about volunteering is meeting the kids and fixing the books. Mrs. Reed has helped the students here and all the other places she has volunteered by keeping the books in good shape. She plans to continue helping out here at Hannah Ashton.
Mrs. Reed went to one-room school for all middle school and graduated high school from Cambridge, OH. When she was young, she never really thought about volunteering as much and she did not know that she could have contributed to so many people. She would like to continue to volunteer for as long as possible because it makes her happy.
I asked Mrs. Reed, would she do anything different in her life and her response was would have helped out more at home when she was younger. Mrs. Reed motivations are the children in her life and it’s just something that she likes to do. She is an excellent example to students and to Reynoldsburg. If more people volunteered like she does, our city would be very different.
Mrs. Reed loves to watch her great grandchildren in her free time. She loves country music and her favorite TV show is NCIS. She loves the movie I Walk the Line and enjoys reading the newspaper every day. She has two grandchildren and three great grandchildren and was one of ten children growing up.
For all Mrs. Reed’s hard work and volunteering she is winning the Service Volunteer Award of the year from the school board for her dedication to Hannah Ashton Middle School. I personally think that she deserves the award and so much more for all of her charitable work. She has impacted many students’ lives with all of the work she has devoted into volunteering and I am honored to be able to write this article about her. Congratulations Mrs. Reed. You really do deserve it!

Mrs. Reed is one of the most selfless people I have ever met. She has devoted most of her life to helping others and she is just absolutely astonishing. Mrs. Reed is 74 years old, has been married for 49 years and has been volunteering for Reynoldsburg schools and more for than 20 years. Before she volunteered at Hannah Ashton she helped out at Herbert Mills.  She and her husband adopted a little girl who also went to Herbert Mills while she was volunteering. Mrs. Reed has been volunteering at Hannah Ashton Middle School every day, all day long for the last 7 years.

Mrs. Reed was recently recognized by the Reynoldsburg Board of Education for her dedication to our Schools and over 22 years of volunteer work.
