This year students will have the option to take Spanish as one of their electives. It is for 7th and 8th graders. Students use Rosetta Stone software on their laptops to learn to speak in Spanish. They are learning how to say colors and numbers and that will expand into sentences when basic vocabulary is covered.
I asked kids how it was and they said “it was easy but hard”. They explained that the reason it is easy is because the words are short but it is hard because its a new language, there is a lot to remember and it hard to pronounce some of the words.
It is harder than you think. So if you want to take spanish you should be prepared to work hard.
