Per State of Ohio law (ORC 3313.671), students are required to receive two (2) doses of the meningococcal (MCV4) vaccine (A, C, W, and Y) prior to their 12th grade school year. Documentation of this immunization must be on file at the school prior to the start of the school year.

The Reynoldsburg City School District views technology as integral to education, helping to increase productivity, achievement, organization and learning opportunities.

The District offers a variety of technology tools, computer network and internet access to students and staff. Students are permitted and encouraged to bring personally-owned devices to school to support and enhance their education. They are provided filtered, internet access for personal devices, but not direct access to the district's networks, including printers and shared drives.

With these privileges come high expectations for responsible technology use and behavior. All students and staff must sign the district's Computer and Technology Acceptable Use Policy in order to be granted access to the District's network and technology resources.

Please review this policy and keep in mind that it may be updated at any time in order to accommodate rapidly changing technology.

Student Participation in State Assessments

The Ohio legislature has enacted the Parents’ Bill of Rights that affirms your fundamental right as a parent or guardian to make decisions concerning the upbringing, education, and care of your child. The District has adopted Board Policy [5780.01/IGBLA/other], which describes the specific rights you have as a parent or guardian and requires the District to notify you regarding these rights and to ask you to choose whether the District can provide certain health care services to your child. The District offers the following physical, mental, and behavioral health care services to your child:

• School-based behavioral health services (by referral only): Nationwide Children’s Hospital, The Buckeye Ranch, Integrated Services Behavioral Health, Southeast Healthcare, Inc. (Prevention services)
• School Social Workers, School Nurses, Health Aides

The District is authorized by law to employ health care service professionals and to provide certain services – among them, diabetes care, conducting hearing and vision tests, testing for tuberculosis (if required by the Board of Health), screening for newly enrolling kindergarten or first grade students, dyslexia screenings, medication administration, concussion assessments, seizure action planning, threat assessments, counseling to any victim of sexual harassment or sexually related conduct, counseling for habitually absent students, and any other services required by a student’s Individualized Education Plan or 504 Plan. 

Other options are available for your child to receive physical, mental, and behavioral health services.  You can see your primary health care provider.  Programs, including a public health clinic, are also offered by Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The District has also compiled a list of counseling and behavioral health resources available on reyn.org under the Department of Diverse Learners & Whole Child Supports. To facilitate parental involvement and decision-making, you have the option to withhold consent or decline any service offered by the District. If you consent, it does not waive your right to access your child’s educational or health records or to be notified about a change in your child’s services or monitoring as required by law. 

Note: This notice and consent does not apply to emergency situations, first aid, other unanticipated minor health care services, or health care services provided pursuant to a student’s IEP or 504 Plan.  If you have questions about these exceptions, please contact the District office.

Reynoldsburg saw its first snowfall this weekend. It’s the time of year when snow, ice, and extreme cold may disrupt our school schedule. We would like to share information about the factors that determine a “calamity day,” when school is canceled or delayed. We also wanted to share the various ways you will be notified of school closures.

What is a Calamity Day?
A calamity day is a school closure determined by the Superintendent for inclement weather or other unavoidable event. A calamity day is considered a non-instructional day. RCS’s Central Office will remain open during calamity days unless otherwise noted.

Monitoring Weather Conditions:
We closely monitor the weather forecast for snow and extremely cold temperatures throughout the winter months. District staff also maintains communication with the local road crews and police and drives through neighborhoods. 

When assessing the safety of the morning commute, our focus is on school transportation. We consider factors such as temperature and wind chill, which may pose a frostbite risk for children waiting 15-30 minutes at school bus stops (typically experiencing a wind chill of about -15 to -20 degrees). 

Please also be aware of slippery sidewalks or black ice. Every day, we examine and salt streets, roads, parking lots, bus loops, sidewalks, and immediate entrances. Our team begins as early as 3:00 a.m. and also checks surfaces before bus departures.

Closures vs. Delays

Whenever possible, the decision to close or delay school will be made the previous evening. However, announcements may be made as late as 5:45 a.m., depending on various factors.

When Reynoldsburg City Schools CLOSE:

•  All evening activities in the elementary and middle school buildings are canceled.
•  High school evening activities will be determined by District personnel based on relevant information.
• Preschool is canceled.
• Transportation to Eastland-Fairfield Career Center is not provided.
• Community groups scheduled to use school facilities (e.g., Park and Rec, Scouts, etc.) will have their events canceled.

When the Reynoldsburg City Schools DELAY:

• Morning preschool is canceled.
• Eastland-Fairfield Career Center morning bus runs are canceled.

Communication Tools

When the decision to declare a calamity day is made, we use multiple methods to communicate. As technology is not always foolproof, we rely on several messaging channels to alert the community of any schedule changes. Those channels include:

• Notifying local television and radio stations
• Posting on social media: Instagram (@ReynSchools) and Facebook (@reynschools)
• Updating the website (www.reyn.org) 
• Sending emails, texts, and phone calls to families

If you are unsure whether the correct contact information is in our system so that you can be notified, please call the secretary of your school building. In addition, check your email spam folders for emails that do not go to your inbox.

Dear Reynoldsburg Raiders,

Welcome back to school! The start of the academic year means the start of the fall athletic season, and we are excited to host our first home football game this Friday, September 4, 2026. Your Reynoldsburg Raiders will host the Big Walnut Golden Eagles at the RHS Livingston Campus Stadium with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.

While we are excited to show we are #REYNProud and support our young athletes, it is our top priority that we do so in a family-friendly, inviting, and safe environment.

For information on our sporting events, including how to get tickets, schedules, and more, please visit https://athletics.reyn.org/. Tickets may be purchased online for $8 or for $10 at the gate with cash. Ticket sales for home football games will close during the third quarter of the game. There will be no entry to games once ticket sales have stopped. Ticket prices may be subject to change. Students in grades K-8 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

For those who are planning to attend the game in person, we want to reiterate some protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of our fans and players.

Reynoldsburg City Schools enforces a no-bag policy, which is limited to those 18 years old or younger. The duty to prove age will rest on the ticket holder. Furthermore, we will continue to deploy crowd control measures under the stands to encourage free movement, reduce congestion, and enhance safety.

To establish a standard of expected behaviors, signs are posted throughout the stadium. These posters are in place as reminders that home sporting events are a time for us to come together and support our Raiders while displaying pride in our community and schools. Some of these expectations include (but are not limited to):

• Spectators must remain seated in the stands during the game. Loitering or gathering in the aisles, concourses, ramps, entrances, or exits is prohibited. There will be no exceptions. Only coaches, student-athletes and authorized event personnel will be permitted on the track and in the infield during athletic events.
• Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes or other intoxicants, or possession of alcohol are not permitted.
• There will be no roughhousing, running, fighting, use of profanity, or acting in a manner considered to be: offensive, threatening, insulting, humiliating, embarrassing, disruptive, obscene, sexually explicit, gang-related, or violent.
• We will not permit nor condone unsafe, disruptive, or harmful behavior. Any violation of the student code of conduct or creating an unsafe environment or condition will be grounds for removal from the game without ticket reimbursement.
• Spectators should exit the stadium in a prompt manner after the conclusion of the game. Loitering is prohibited.

Together, we will create a positive image for visiting fans and a safe environment for students, staff, and community members. Please assist us by speaking to your child(ren) about appropriate and acceptable behavior while attending school-sponsored events and remind them that no bags will be permitted in the stadium.
