Meet Our New Student Representative Irene Zengo!

Meet Irene, the RHS senior who is the new Student Representative for the Board of Education. She is taking over for Riley, who graduated last year, and will be the voice of the student body during meetings.

She will meet with Superintendent Dr. Tracy R. Reed and attend monthly Board meetings, where she will provide input and updates from her peers.

Let’s meet Irene!

“My name is Irene Zengo, and I was born in Tanzania. I’m currently a high school student who enjoys being involved in my school, community, and different activities.

I’m a track athlete, and being part of the sport has taught me the importance of discipline, patience, and pushing myself. I’m also involved in NHS and Leo Club, where I serve as a PR Lead, and I’m part of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory. Through the Student Advisory, I hope to make a positive difference in my district and feel more connected and engaged with my school community.

Outside of school, I’m currently interning at Genesis Hospital, where I’m gaining experience and learning more about the professional world. I’m also working toward earning my associate degree while still in high school.

What motivates me most is my faith and my parents, who continue to encourage me to work hard and make the most of the opportunities I have. I hope to keep growing, learning, and using my experiences to make a difference in the lives of others."
