Fund for Teachers, one of the nation's leading organizations supporting preK-12 educators, has announced its 2026 grant recipients – including Isabel González – Rose Hill Elementary. González designed and submitted a proposal to complete a 12-day immersion in Nepal through the Community Homestay Network to directly inform her English language instruction for Bhutanese-Nepali students by providing culturally grounded content for reading, writing, speaking and listening tasks that build academic vocabulary, narrative writing skills and oral language confidence.

After a rigorous and extremely competitive review process, her proposal was selected and she will receive $5,000 to make it happen. González’s grant was made possible with generous funding from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.  González is one of 337 pk-12 teachers from across the United States awarded a total of $1.56 million to pursue self-designed learning expeditions across 82 countries in 6 continents this summer. Since 2001, Fund for Teachers has invested $40.5 million in 10,562 teachers from across the United States.
