The "Hit" of the Conference: Reynoldsburg Model UN Students Shine on State Stage

Ohio Model United Nations (OMUN) is a school-based, three-day simulation where students learn about the UN by role-playing as delegates from different nations. Delegates write, present and debate issues that affect the nations and peoples of the world today.

While there is no "winner" at OMUN, awards are given for "Outstanding Nation" and "Outstanding Culture." These are given to only three student groups out of the 160, based on their resolutions, speeches, talent showcase, native dress and adherence to the chosen culture.

For the third year in a row, a Reynoldsburg delegation group was selected for this honor!

Club advisor Steven Ridgway said, "They were the 'hit' of the conference and, in some ways, I think their North Korean portrayal will be imitated for years to come."

Please join us in congratulating the following students:

  • Josh Brennan (Jr.)
  • Morgan Clements (Sr.)
  • Quinn Dean (Sr.)
  • Dallas Handa (Jr.)
  • Maddie Kerry (Fr.)
  • Aditi Pyakurel (Sr.)
  • Aiden Slisher (Jr.)

Additionally, Audrey Brown (Jr.) and Option Dahal (Jr.) were selected as officers for next year's conference of 2,000 students. This is a tremendous honor only given to 30 students across the state each year.

Our students' dedication to hands-on, collaborative learning makes us incredibly proud. We can't wait to see what's next for this group of bright scholars!
