RHS Alum is National Player of the Week!

Brooklyn Pannell of the University of Charleston (Charleston, W. Va.) was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division II National Players of the Week for the week ending Feb. 14.
 

Pannell, a senior guard, was named the named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week after leading the Golden Eagles to a 3-0 week in which she averaged 36.7 points per game.

The Columbus, Ohio, native and RHS Class if 2017 graduate  began the week with 41 points on 14-of-23 shooting in an 82-53 win over Wheeling University, which included 6-of-9 from three-point range.

Pannell then scored 35 points in an 86-64 win over West Virginia State University, netting 8-of-10 from beyond the arc, while also grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out five assists.

She finished the week by scoring 34 points in an 87-52 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan College, where she was 7-of-10 from beyond the three-point line.

Pannell finished the week 39-of-74 (52.7 percent) from the field, including 21-of-29 (72.4 percent) from three-point range and averaged 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
