COVID 19 UPDATES AND PREVENTATIVE MEASURES

March 13, 2020

Dear Reynoldsburg City Schools Families,

As you are well aware, the world is working diligently to combat the COVID19 (or coronavirus) pandemic. Our goal is to keep our students, staff and families aware of how this impact the operations of our school District. Yesterday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued an order to close schools in Ohio. During this unprecedented time, we need to exhibit calm, grace, patience, and understanding as we navigate this together.

Here is what we know:

• This is a constantly changing, ever-evolving situation. We are doing our best to communicate in a timely fashion, but understand that questions will continue to be raised.

• Information will be consistently updated as this situation is fluid and we need to be nimble enough to navigate changes and help our community understand and deal with this pandemic as information is received.

• RCS Information is sent out in the following platforms:
o Email, Text, Phone calls via our One-Call Platform. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high volume of communications sent across the country,       email in particular has been delayed.
o Social Media: Facebook and Twitter: @ReynSchools
o On Reyn.org: you will see a red banner with updates

• RCS students will not report to school and there will be no activities or events beginning Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, April 3, 2020.

• We are implementing online/at home learning days and will provide and distribute guidance and instructional materials on Monday, March 16.

• We are offering students grab and go breakfast between 8:00-10:00 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at French Run Elementary School, Hannah Ashton Middle School and Reynoldsburg High School’s Livingston Campus during March 17-20 and March 30-April 3, 2020. Please note there will not be breakfast or lunch offered the week of Spring Break (March 22-29).

• Visit the CDC website for information on COVID19 and ways to stay healthy.

This crisis impacts the entire state, along with the nation and the world. We thank everyone for your cooperation and understanding during this very unusual and challenging time. We encourage you to take care of yourselves, your loved ones and to exercise the appropriate precautions.

Sincerely,
MJB Signature
