Dear Reynoldsburg City Schools Staff and Families,

Please join me in welcoming Mr. David Baker back to the District as Assistant Superintendent, beginning August 3, 2020. In this role, he will utilize his strengths of problem solving, decision making, and effective communication to influence the climate, culture, and productivity of Reynoldsburg City Schools. Mr. Baker is no stranger to the District. From 1993-1999, he taught mathematics at Reynoldsburg High school then served as high school Assistant Principal from 1999-2005.

Mr. Baker comes from the Ohio Department of Education where he was Executive Director, Center for Student Supports. There, he oversaw daily operations for three program offices: Office for Exceptional Children, Office for Early Learning and School Readiness and the Office for Integrated Student Supports. Mr. Baker had a role in everything from students with disabilities/IDEA/Gifted Learning to Preschool to child nutrition, school safety, vulnerable youth populations, whole child supports and social and emotional learning.

“This is truly a full-circle moment for me. It is an honor to serve the district in which not only did my teaching and administrative careers begin but also from which I received my K-12 education. I look forward to partnering with the Reynoldsburg learning community to continue the excellence that is Reynoldsburg City Schools,” said Mr. Baker.

Mr. Baker earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He earned his Master of Arts in Educational Policy and Leadership from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He and his husband live on Columbus’ east side. Together, they enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time at home with their three dogs.

Please be sure to introduce yourself to Mr. Baker and welcome him back to the District. I look forward to working with him as he becomes a change agent for Reynoldsburg City Schools.
