The District's annual State of the Schools provided an opportunity for staff, students and community members to hear updates about Reynoldsburg City Schools. From academic and athletic achievements, to alumni awards and student speeches and performances, there was something for everyone at the RHS Summit PAC.
Attendees enjoyed music from the RHS Jazz Band as they took their seats. Mr. Tom Szendrey, director of secondary education, welcomed guests and introduced students to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the National Anthem. The RHS Choir led the crowd in singing the Alma Mater before Board President Abram introduced student speakers. Three RHS students presented their submission, which earned them scholarships at the Martin Luther King, Jr. breakfast. The theme was "Mission Possible."
Ms. Tyler Parker ('15) and Mr. Kevin Gray ('10) received the #REYNProud Legacy Alumni Award. Nominated by peers, students and the community, we recognized these two alumni for upholding the mission and vision of the District.
Superintendent Reed took the stage to share academic and athletic achievements from the past year, including data-driven insights that leadership uses to make decisions for the District. "It is important for everyone to be involved in moving the District forward," she said. "It can't just be Tracy's vision, so I am asking for your help and support in providing feedback and data so we can continue the great work we are doing, and improve in the future."
The District is updating its Five-Year Strategic Plan, so after the State of the Schools, attendees were invited to participate in a Design Lab and take a community survey.
