The Reynoldsburg City School Board of Education announced today it has identified five individuals to interview for the Superintendent of the District.

The candidates are:

  • David Harmon, Chief of Human Resources, Dayton Public Schools, Dayton, Ohio

  • Dr. M. Denise Lutz, Chief Technology Officer, Upper Arlington City Schools, Upper Arlington, Ohio

  • Dr. Tracy Reed, Chief Academic Officer, Sandusky City Schools, Sandusky, Ohio

  • Naim Sanders, Assistant Superintendent, Reynoldsburg City Schools, Reynoldsburg, Ohio

  • Dr. Claude Tiller Jr., Assistant Superintendent of High School Transformation, Detroit Public School Community District, Detroit, Michigan

“I am very pleased with both the number and the quality of applicants who have applied to be the next leader of the Reynoldsburg School District,” said President of Reynoldsburg City Schools Board of Education Debbie Dunlap. “The Board is impressed with the diverse experiences and characteristics that each of the applicants bring to the table, as well as their sincere interest in helping us achieve our goals while providing outstanding opportunities for the students of Reynoldsburg.

“I also think we can all be very pleased with the time and the effort that has gone into this in terms of crafting our Superintendent profile. Through community engagement and surveys, we have been able to get a good sense of what our staff, families and community want in the next Superintendent which we used as a Board when inviting those who we felt were a good fit for our first-round interviews.

“Finally, we are grateful for the dedicated efforts of the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio and the fruits of that partnership. This is a new search, and we have approached some of the aspects of this search differently. But one thing remains the same and that is the importance of involving our stakeholders in the search process while keeping our top priority in focus – our children.”

The interviews will be held in executive session during special Board meetings December 7 and 8. The group of candidates will be narrowed down to two for final interviews scheduled Dec. 12, 2022, which will include the Board of Education and several stakeholder groups. The Board of Education is tentatively scheduled to select the District’s new Superintendent at the December 13 regular monthly Board meeting, with a preferred start date of Jan. 2, 2023.

The candidate search is being conducted in partnership with the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio. More information about the search is available at https://www.escco.org/ReynoldsburgSearch
