With 15 years in education, principal Wright has taught every grade level from preschool through 5th grade. He has also held various leadership positions in the past. “I am deeply passionate about helping students achieve academic growth and believe strongly in the importance of early literacy as a foundation for future success,” he said.

What is your education philosophy and goals for your role?

As a principal, my educational philosophy centers on fostering lifelong learners and global citizens. I believe education should equip students with the skills and mindset to continuously seek knowledge and engage with diverse perspectives.

My goals are to create an inclusive and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and empathy. By integrating global perspectives into the curriculum and promoting collaboration and innovation, we can prepare students to navigate and contribute positively to an interconnected world.

Why is Taylor Road Elementary great? What do you like most about it?

My school excels because of its dedicated teachers, engaged students, and supportive families.

What I love most is the strong parent-to-school connection, which enhances student success and fosters a collaborative community. This partnership enriches the educational experience and helps us create a nurturing and responsive learning environment. Our goal is to continue to grow and nurture the school and family connection.

Why are you proud to be a Raider?

I am proud to be a Raider because our Reynoldsburg Portrait of a Graduate traits truly embody the essence of our educational mission.

As an Innovative Problem Solver, I appreciate how we encourage students to think creatively and tackle challenges with fresh perspectives. Our emphasis on being Socially and Emotionally Effective Communicators ensures that students develop strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience. I value the focus on being Collaborative, as it fosters teamwork and mutual support. Additionally, our commitment to being Socially Aware and Global Citizens helps students understand and engage with the broader world. These traits collectively prepare our students to excel both personally and professionally, and they inspire me every day as part of the Reynoldsburg community.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love exploring the Metro Parks in Columbus, enjoying the outdoors and nature.

Traveling is another favorite activity, as it lets me experience new places and cultures. I also find relaxation at the beach and value being active in my church for the sense of community it provides. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my kids, making the most of our moments together.

What’s one fact that people may be interested to know about you?

Over the past ten years, I've been a foster parent to over 30 children, ranging from birth to 17. I’ve supported teenagers transitioning from residential centers to family homes and have also led classes on the importance of understanding trauma and its impact on children and families.

What’s the one thing you want families to take away from your profile?

One thing that I hope families get from this series — that I have a passion for students and helping them to have a strong foundation and love for education.

Carrie “Ginny” Loudon: Assistant PrincipalAP Ginny Loudon
