Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver and RCS Alumni Tackles Teacher School Supply Lists

Reynoldsburg City Schools’ alumni and Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver Ashton Dulin helped teachers in the District tackle their school supply wish lists before the beginning of the new school year.

Dulin, a 2015 graduate of Reynoldsburg High School is committed to giving back to his community and partners with the District by hosting Community Fun Days where he provides backpacks, school supplies, haircuts and more to community members and students. Dulin wanted to give back to the teachers who made his educational journey at Reynoldsburg successful by asking them to provide wish lists.

Dulin randomly chose 30 teachers from across all grade levels to help tackle their needs for the new school year.

In a thank you message to teachers, Dullin said, “Teachers are a big part of our community and I want you to know your hard work does not go unnoticed. I hope you have a great and successful school year.”

Dulin asked teachers to provide their best piece of advice for youth. Elizabeth Porter, who teaches 8th grade at Waggoner Road Junior High School advises her students, “Every mistake is an opportunity to learn something new. You shouldn’t give up just because something is a challenge.

Lori Uhl, who taught Dulin in the fourth grade at Slate Ridge Elementary School said, “Thank you so very much, Ashton. From my little fourth grader who will forever be the fastest Toucan to a talented and humble NFL athlete. Go Colts!”

“We are so thankful for all of our teachers and their roles in our students' lives,” said RCS Superintendent Tracy R. Reed. “Ashton’s generosity also reaffirms his commitment to his community and the educators who helped him during his time with Reynoldsburg City Schools.”

More than 100 teachers submitted wish lists and Dulin was able to fulfill 30 for the teachers below:
