RCS Remembers Amy Cox
Amy Cox Family
It was an emotional morning at RHS' BELL Academy as friends and family gathered to celebrate the life of Amy Cox, former counselor, who passed away earlier this year. Amy, a 1987 Reynoldsburg High School graduate, had worked for RCS for 20 years. She was beloved by both students and staff.

Colleagues like teachers Mr. Chris Brown, Ms. Stephanie Herman and Ms. Val Zielinkski spoke about how she was a "gem," and mentioned her endless list of contributions to the District and BELL Academy. Longtime friend and RCS Assistant Superintendent, Mr. David Baker, spoke about his first time meeting Amy at Band Camp, how they used to tie up her mom's telephone line watching and discussing Dynasty every Wednesday at 9pm and even how life took them on different paths, they would always reconnect like no time had passed at all. Mr. Baker extended a challenge to attendees to reach out to their "forever friend" and catch up. "Life is short," he said. "But there are people in your life that, when you reconnect, you feel as if time stands still. As you catch up with that person, know the spirit of Amy is with you."

A plaque with her picture, which was donated by the Reynoldsburg Education Association, was dedicated and will hang in the BELL Academy office. The Amy Cox Memorial Scholarship has also been created and will be awarded to a BELL Academy Senior.
