RHS Welcomes Andrew Moore as Boys Basketball Coach

May 21, 2020

Dear Raider Families,

I am pleased to welcome Mr. Andrew Moore to the Raider family as the Varsity Boys’ Basketball coach for Reynoldsburg City Schools. Mr. Moore has more than 25 years’ experience coaching Men’s Basketball at the collegiate level. Most recently, Mr. Moore was the Associate Head Coach at the United States Air Force Academy.

I am excited to bring my family back to where I grew up, my father coached and I played at Mt. Vernon High School,” said Coach Moore. “The OCC is the premiere conference in the state of Ohio and it is a privilege to be a part of it. Reynoldsburg High School has strong traditions both on the court and in the classroom. I am very appreciative of the trust that Superintendent Brown, Mr. Jack Purtell and Mr. Ed Johnson have shown in me to be the next coach at Reynoldsburg High School. I look forward to getting back to meet the team, the athletic administration and all of the coaches at Reynoldsburg High School. Go Raiders!”

Coach Moore spent six seasons with the Falcons in Colorado. After four seasons as an assistant, he was elevated to Associate Head Coach for the 2018-19 season. Mr. Moore has helped the Falcons to three 14-win seasons and three conference tournament victories during his time with the United States Air Force Academy.

Prior to his time in Colorado, he spent two seasons with the Virginia Tech men’s basketball coaching staff.

Mr. Moore began his coaching career at Mt. Vernon (Ohio) High School, where he was an assistant coach for the varsity boys’ team. He then moved on to Kenyon College, where he served as an assistant men’s basketball coach and head men’s golf coach (‘94-96).

Mr. Moore is a 1992 graduate of Muskingum College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts from Muskingum University in Speech and Communication and was named first-team All-American and Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior in 1991-92. He was a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) selection and finished his career as the school’s all-time scoring leader. He was inducted into Muskingum’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999.

Mr. Moore and his wife, Stephanie, have three sons, Graham, Nolan and Hayden.

Our athletic teams are fiercely competitive and we cannot wait to watch Coach Moore continue the tradition as the leader of the Raiders. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Moore to Reynoldsburg!

Sincerely,
