Dear Reynoldsburg City Schools Families and
Staff,
Last month, Reynoldsburg City Schools worked to provide internet
access for staff and students with an RCS-owned Chromebook, laptop, tablet or
smart device to external WiFi at our buildings while buildings are closed for
the remainder of the 2019-20 academic school year in response to the continued
spread of COVID-19.
In order to extend that access to our staff and families, we have outfitted
some of our buses with WiFi Hotspots and they will be in neighborhoods to help
staff and students complete Distance Learning assignments and work for the
remainder of the academic school year.
The buses will be in the following locations,
Monday-Friday from 8:00am- 12 noon beginning May 4, 2020. The buses will be
cleaned between each driver shift. Adults and students will not be permitted on
the bus. We also ask that you continue to practice the social distancing
guidelines set by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.
To join, locate the network
name and enter the password in your WiFi settings:
Network Name: Kajeet Smartbus
Password: smartbus
If you are having issues with your connection, please park your car closer to the front of the bus with a clear line of sight, without preventing the bus from exiting. If you are still having issues connecting to Wi-Fi please call the Reynoldsburg IT helpdesk at (614) 501-1031. Also, please stay within legal parking bounds and refrain from parking in lanes labeled” Fire Lane”, Reserved, or handicapped parking spaces.
Please note: to conserve bandwidth,
YouTube and other streaming sites are not available from the bus hotspots.
Below are the locations where the buses will be throughout the
week:
- Postwoods Apts (Daughtry @ Pathfinder) #3
- Tatum @ Calusa Drive (in front of Pond) #5
- Instone @ Serenoa Dr. #42
- Windriver Dr. @ Blackoak Dr. (Ardsley Ridge) #46
- Waggoner Rd. @ Main St. (Oakbrook Apt, Ridgemont Apts, Coronado Apts) Bus #47
- Family Dollar (Estates Mobile Home
Park) #51

- Park in Ride (Birchview Dr. North)
#53
- Big Lots Parking lot (Century City
Apts) #54
- Old Kroger Parking lot (Seton Square

We hope this will help our students and families who are continuing
to adjust to distance learning for the remainder of the year. Thank you so much
for your cooperation and understanding. Stay healthy and be well.
Sincerely,
Melvin J. Brown
