Summit Road STEM Elementary Hosts First Annual Walk-A-Thon
Walk-a-Thon logo

Summit Road STEM Elementary School will host its first annual Walk-A-Thon on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 9:00 AM. The entire student body and staff will join Principal Latasha Turner as they walk a designated path around the school and wetlands in an effort to raise money.

"The Walk-a-Thon will benefit every student at Summit Road STEM Elementary," said Mrs. Turner. "Funds raised will support our Environmental STEM focus, program and philosophy."

The school hopes to raise $10,000 to update Makerspaces, purchase books, classroom supplies, materials for the garden, courtyard and EcoLab. Donations will also help alleviate the transportation costs for outdoor education trips and other school events and activities.

"I want to thank those who have donated so far," said Mrs. Turner. "The more we raise, the more we can support our students and the STEM program at Summit Road STEM Elementary!"
