Statement regarding Ayanta Jarmon

Today we learned the tragic news that one of our recent graduates has passed away and another student was treated at a local hospital after a shooting incident last evening. Our hearts are with the families of our students and our Reynoldsburg City Schools students, staff and community members. We grieve the loss of our recent student's life.

Ayanta Jarmon was a member of the Reynoldsburg High School Graduating Class of 2022 and had a bright future ahead of her. Her passing leaves a hole in our community that can never be filled. We join Ayanta's family and friends in their grief at such an unimaginable time. District officials will reach out to both families to provide any support needed.

We encourage anyone who has questions, is struggling, or would benefit from speaking with a licensed care professional to do so. Both high schools will have counselors available on Monday and students can always access counseling services through our Nationwide Children's Hospital partnership by calling 614-722-6300. Additionally, Ohio Health offers grief services and can be reached at 614-566-5377.
