Reynoldsburg Senior Selected for All-National Honor Ensembles

Last year, RHS student Bobby Sheridan earned a seat in Ohio’s All-State Band, composed of the top 90 high school musicians in the state of Ohio. This honor qualified him to audition and be selected for the National Association for Music Education’s (NAfME) All-National Honor Ensembles Concert Band, a comprehensive educational experience representing the top performing high school musicians in the United States.

Bobby will join the 2022 All-National Concert Band at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland on November 6, under the leadership of one of the top conductors in the field of music education – Rodney Dorsey.

Among the concert band roster, Bobby is one of just four students representing Ohio and one of only 12 trombone players across the nation. “I love how the trombone is the most closely related instrument to the voice,” said Bobby. “The only limit on your range is yourself.”

Bobby has been playing the trombone for seven years and credits Mr. Jason Gibson, Reynoldsburg City Schools’ Band Director, as one of his biggest mentors that has fueled his passion for music.

“Bobby has put in countless hours of practice and hard work and we know he is going to keep doing great things after he graduates from Reynoldsburg. He is the type of student that not only is good, but makes the musicians around him better,” said Gibson.

We are ecstatic to see the impact our music programs have on students, and we are so proud of Bobby for his hard work and dedication to the craft. Congratulations Bobby!
