Reynoldsburg City School’s Board of Education announced Dec. 20, 2022, the selection of Dr. Tracy Reed as the next Superintendent of the District.
Dr. Reed is currently the Chief Academic Officer at Sandusky City Schools where she provides strategic leadership for the school district’s academic division as a senior leadership team member. She began her educational career as a sixth-grade teacher in Cleveland Metropolitan School District, and has served as an assistant principal, an assistant superintendent and other central office leadership roles in school districts in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. Dr. Reed received her undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati in Elementary Education, her master’s degree in Educational Supervision from Cleveland State University, and her doctorate in Educational Leadership with a minor in school law from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.
“The Board of Education is thrilled to welcome Dr. Tracy Reed to our Raider family,” said Debbie Dunlap, president of the Board. “She brings with her experiences from both large and small districts, a track record of building strong relationships, a reflective approach to decision-making, and an unwavering advocacy for diverse students and families. Her ability to bring people together to achieve measured outcomes is evident in the work she has accomplished in her previous leadership roles. We are confident she will fit well with our team and lead the District forward with a commitment to Reynoldsburg’s strategic goals with the characteristics and qualities we heard were important to our stakeholders during our community engagement process.”
The Board began its superintendent search in early October in partnership with the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio. After receiving 18 applications for the position, the Board selected five candidates to interview December 7 and 8. Two of the candidates were invited back for second-round interviews that took place December 14 with the Board of Education and several stakeholder groups, including staff.
“The Board is thankful to the ESCCO for its leadership and partnership throughout the entire search process. Hiring a superintendent is one of the most important jobs of a school board, and the ESCCO worked diligently with the Board, our staff, our students and our community to present a quality pool of candidates, and to ensure that we found the right fit for Reynoldsburg,” Dunlap added.
Dr. Reed will transition throughout the month of January from her current position in Sandusky and will begin her new role full-time in Reynoldsburg Feb. 1, 2023.
